Object Role Modeling Support Social Project Management

Projects, in general, tend to be large and complex with interdependencies of resources and activities running in parallel, in the ever changing environment offering risks and opportunities. Social Project Management is a way to cope with complexities and interdependencies by segmentation of large projects into small projects with limited scope and planning performed by small motivated teams characterized by agility, responsiveness, and repetition.

Object Role Modeling is a fact based method for modeling. It uses natural language for describing facts and constraints. ORM takes an approach of primary facts to describe objects and their corresponding roles defined through constraints. This facilitates issues like segmentation, outsourcing, change management, risk management, and other organizational aspects.

In this paper, ORM has been extended to support the Social Project Management by helping clear definition of roles and responsibilities, detecting and reducing risks, coping with change management, human resource development, and organizational development.
